How far is the Civitavecchia cruise port from Rome?

If you book a private transfer with us from a hotel in Rome to Civitavecchia, the driving time is about 1.5 hours (90 minutes) – pending local traffic and road conditions.

As such, the recommended departure time from Rome for most cruises is 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM to arrive in time for embarkation process.

It is NOT recommended to book a transfer or leave Rome too early in the morning (such as before 10 AM), as you may arrive at your ship before it completed the disembarkation process and is ready to embark the newly arriving passengers starting their cruise.

It is NOT recommended to book a transfer or leave Rome too late in the afternoon (such as after 1:30 PM) without sufficient safety leeway in case you encounter any traffic or unforeseen delays on the way to the cruise ship arrive too late to the port.
