The Sanctuary of Mary of Ceri was built on top of a pagan temple (as it’s often the case with historic churches in Italy from the middle ages), and its interior walls are masterpieces of Medieval frescoes aged and damaged by centuries of existence but still amazingly well preserved and vibrant.
